A little about BEAUBIT

Beauty, on your own terms.

BEAUBIT had a life before me.
It began as a beauty content platform, then grew into a place where people could discover and shop beauty products from around the world. I joined in 2022, and over time, my ideas about beauty and what I wanted this brand to stand for began to take shape.
But first, I’d love to share my story.
I grew up surrounded by women. On my mum’s side alone, I had eight aunts, not counting my uncles’ wives and my many female cousins of all ages. Then I spent nine years in all-girls schools, surrounded by thousands of girls, teachers, and principals who (I think) put extra effort into how they looked every day.
You’d think all that would have inspired me.
Well, I was more interested in short hair, running around in shorts and oversized T-shirts, playing catch and hide-and-seek, and hunting for spiders with my brother and male cousins. Dolling myself up wasn’t quite my thing. An uncle once told me, very gently, that girls should have long hair. And whenever I laughed a little too loudly, one of my aunts would hiss at me to keep it down.
Somewhere along the way, I changed. But even now, I’d pick a five-minute makeup routine over sitting in a chair for ages while someone does my face and hair. Give me something easy that actually works, and I’m happy.
Skincare is the same for me. I believe less is more, but I’m firm on one thing. I’d much rather look after my skin today than try to undo years of damage later. And you certainly won’t find me sunbathing to get a tan.
That’s the BEAUBIT I’m building today.

Fewer things, and only what suits you.

I’ve never believed you need a shelf full of products or a ten-step routine to take good care of yourself. I want beauty to feel easy to get into.
So we’re careful about what we bring in. A product has to work, and it has to be easy enough that you’ll keep using it. Being on trend isn’t enough. Looking good on a shelf isn't enough, though I’ll admit I like my lipstick in a pretty tube.
Picking well is only half of it. The other half is being honest about who it’s for.
At a pop-up once, a customer asked if we carried a toner. We did. She then asked if it contained alcohol. It did, and she couldn’t use alcohol on her skin.
I told her straight away. No hiding it, no trying to talk her into buying it.
She wasn’t upset. We moved on, went through the shelf together, and she eventually left with a full bag of products she could actually use.
That moment stayed with me. Helping someone find the right products matters more than making a sale.
Beauty should fit into your life, not take it over.

Tried on our own skin first.

Every product here has to earn its place. We test everything on our own skin and see how it holds up in Singapore’s heat and humidity. If something doesn’t, it doesn’t get another look, no matter how cute the packaging is.
As BEAUBIT grows, we’re starting to make our own products too, and they go through the same test. We tested our BEAUBIT Daily Sunscreen on our own skin in this weather before it ever reached the shelf.
We won’t promise you perfect skin, and we won’t tell you that you need everything on our shelves.
Taking care of yourself could be as simple as putting on sunscreen before you head out. Or it could be those five quiet minutes at the end of a long day, when you finally have a little time to yourself.
We’re here to help you find what works for you. If we think something isn’t right for you, we’ll say so, even if it costs us the sale.
That’s BEAUBIT, in a nutshell. Asian beauty, handpicked by someone who’s tried it first. And the occasional soft spot.
With love,
Nelly
